For my final critical review I am going to talk about a piece of typography that I admire and its impact. The above typography was created by a young graphic designer who posts ‘daily dishonesties’ on a blog, making you think about what sort of things you’re dishonest with yourself about.
I like the above typography ‘I don’t get hangovers’ because its humorous and makes you think about how many times you’ve said that to yourself or lied to yourself about something else you don’t do, for example you might be forever telling yourself junk food is good for you when you known really its bad for you, making you think about just how dishonest you are.
The thing I like the most about the specific typography is the shadow behind the text, the fact its green can be linked to sick, aswell with the orange background. The swirly text is also nice as it makes it seem less serious and reflects the light hearted funny message it portrays. I also like the printed effect background, making it have more of an impact instead of a solid colour.
Overall I admire daily dishonesty posts as they make you think about the different lies you tell yourself and other people, for example ‘I’ll be there in 5 minutes.’
